Description

Play as a skeleton trying to escape the confines of your repetitive world. Observe as other skeletons are lost to their grief and their past, working to no avail, or simply giving up on improving their station. Will you make it out? When faced with the world above can you still keep climbing? Worst of all, will you become just another husk ...

This game is an interactive walking simulator made for my CDM175 class. It uses a prebuilt first person controller to navigate an area I set up. The groups of skeletons are each doing repetitive tasks while being in too much of a rush to consider their environment and use the proper tools. The game was mean to reward slow interactions and taking the time to look around.

Controls

Use WASD or arrow keys to move and left mouse click to interact.

The game is so cool! I can notice the ton of efforts you spend on the game, the shift between different scenes, the music combinations with model action. Really completed and mature already!

The environment of this game is super cool! I really like the details in each corner and the fact that the skeletons are animated. I also like the design of the swords in that one corner

This is such an interesting concept! I love the animations and interactive components that highlight player choice. This feels like a critique on a capitalistic system that oppresses individuals and highlights the struggles of limited time within our lifespans. The message is great and the environment you created is so immersive, well done!

The animated parts to this game makes it very visually interesting. You could just sit and watch the skeletons or walk with them.  I also like the dark and eerie theme.

This game feels so mysterious! I like the stark contrast of the outside scene to the darker one- it made me curious what the meaning of this game might be. (also the clock looks really cool!)

I like the motion of the skeleton, it really makes the game more vivid

The animations of the skeletons were done really nicely. In the cave, the background sound effects also added to the dark atmosphere and I like how the scene changer up top changed the environment.

the scope of this project is shocking. All the details worked into the narrative world building and encourage players to find meaning in this game

I love the world building of your game, your choice of music and sound effects, and especially the animations - I was certainly impressed with the skeletons pushing the power generator and hope to add that level of liveliness into games of my own. Good job! :D

I really like how you leverage the darkness and the emissive effects. It's often really difficult to make dark spaces in video games without just making everything unseeable.

very ominous, the sounds really added to the atmosphere. The animation looks great!

It's fun to see all the skeletons moving around and making the game feel more expressive. I do kind of wish that you can pick up the swords laying around to make it feel more like escaping and giving it more purpose.

The scene design is wonderful! I like the horror and fantastic atmosphere in your game. The behavior of the skeletons are also interesting.

The world you made is very intriguing! The animations are cool

I really like the usage of sound. It makes the environment seem even more ominous.

I really love the art style of this game, and the animations also excellent.(the fade-out animation when the player enters the purple shield)

The world you made feels very active! I can easily see a story forming around a world like this!

This was super awesome and I like the integration of animations into your game. I think the cinematic cutscenes really helped your game to feel like a complete experience!
